Care at a glance
The pizza anemone gets its name from its striking radial colour pattern: a ring of differently coloured tentacle zones running outward from the centre, like slices of a pizza. It's one of the more unusually marked anemones in the hobby.
Even for an anemone it packs an unusually powerful sting, so handle it carefully and keep it well away from corals that can't take the burn. It hosts clownfish less reliably than the classic bubble-tip or carpet anemones, so buy it for its own looks rather than expecting a clownfish to move in. Given its sensitivity and sting, it's mainly suited to an advanced, mature reef tank.
