Care at a glance
The scopas tang is brown with fine pale speckling that becomes denser towards the rear, and has the tall fins typical of its genus. It is the plainer-coloured cousin of the yellow tang, but virtually identical in behaviour and care.
It grazes algae off rock all day and therefore needs plenty of grown-in stone and daily vegetable supplements. Do not combine it with other tangs of the same shape; it will chase them off, even when there seems to be room enough.
