Care at a glance
The tomini tang stays small for a tang and has a brownish body that brightens to yellow towards the rear, with blue edging along the fins. Like the kole tang it has bristle-like teeth with which it scrapes film algae and detritus off rock rather than biting off hair algae.
That makes it one of the most useful and manageable tangs for a medium-sized reef tank. Give it plenty of grown-in rock and daily vegetable food, and keep exactly one, as it sees similar tangs as rivals.
