Care at a glance
Rice paddy herb is a culinary herb in South-East Asia: the leaves have a spicy aroma and are stirred fresh into soups and salads. In the aquarium it is an elegant stem plant with narrow whorls of leaves that can colour purple to wine red underneath.
For that colour it needs strong light and a good nutrient balance; in shade it simply stays green and stretches. Trim the tops regularly and replant them, and the group stays dense and colourful.
