Care at a glance

Ambulia has finely divided whorls of leaves around a straight stem, which makes it look like cabomba but considerably less brittle and demanding. It grows fast and, in a group, forms an airy, feathery back wall.

It is content with moderate light and ordinary fertilisation and branches well after topping. Cut the tops and replant them to keep the stands full, and always dispose of trimmings with green waste; this species too can spread unwanted outside the aquarium.
