Care at a glance
The giant danio from Sri Lanka and western India is the largest of the danios and a tireless, fast swimmer with blue and gold lengthwise stripes. In its home streams it holds station in current, and that shows in its constant need to move.
What it mainly needs is length, at least as much as a small cichlid, plus some flow and oxygen-rich water. Keep it in a group, cover the tank because it jumps, and combine it only with fish that can cope with that pace.
