Care at a glance
The flame angelfish is arguably the most striking small marine fish there is: bright orange with vertical black bars and blue-black edged fins. It is also easier to keep than its price suggests, as long as it gets a mature tank with plenty of hiding places.
Like other dwarf angels it is reef-safe 'with reservations': most individuals leave corals alone, but the odd one starts picking at LPS or clams. Feeding well and varied, with an emphasis on vegetable matter, keeps that risk small. Dwarf angels tolerate neither their own kind nor another Centropyge in the same tank, so stick to one.
