Potter’s angelfish

Care at a glance

Potter's angelfish occurs only around the Hawaiian islands and is orange-brown with fine blue-grey vertical lines. It is shy and spends much of its time within the rockwork, so in a new tank you may hardly see it for weeks.

In the wild it feeds mainly on algal growth and small organisms from the reef, so it needs a large, long-established system with plenty of grown-in rock. As with most dwarf angels there is a chance it will start picking at corals, so in a mixed reef tank it remains a matter of watching closely.
