Care at a glance
The yellow rabbit snail is the variety with a strikingly yellow body under a dark, tower-shaped shell, a fine contrast against a dark substrate. It too comes from the lakes of Sulawesi, where the water is warm, hard and rich in calcium.
It moves slowly across the bottom, eating detritus, soft films and sometimes decaying plant material. Expect very slow reproduction and a long life; what matters most is enough calcium in the water, otherwise its shell deteriorates.
