Care at a glance
The tailspot blenny is a small blenny with a blue-grey body, a yellow face and a distinct black spot before the tail. It usually sits in a hole in the rock with only its head out, scanning the surroundings with mobile eyes.
It grazes hair algae and film off the rock, which makes it both a useful and an entertaining reef resident. Provide enough grown-in rock and supplement with vegetable food; keep one per tank, because blennies tolerate no rivals in the same hole.
