The scissortail rasbora from South-East Asia is a slender, silvery swimmer with black-and-white marked tail lobes. When it hovers, it moves those lobes alternately up and down, exactly like a pair of scissors opening and closing, which is how it got its name.
It grows larger than most rasboras and is a tireless swimmer, so a long tank with open space matters more than a tall one. Keep it in a group and cover the tank, because it jumps well and far.
