Care at a glance
The dwarf rasbora from the peat swamps of Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo is orange-red with a large black flank blotch and stays under three centimetres. It is a close relative of the chili rasbora and asks for the same dark, soft conditions.
Put it in a small, densely planted tank with leaf litter and subdued light; in clear, hard water it stays pale and shy. Feed very fine dust or live foods and keep it in a large group without bigger tankmates.
