Care at a glance
The sailfin tang from the Indo-Pacific can raise its enormous dorsal and anal fins fully, which in one movement makes it look almost circular and twice its size. That is exactly what those fins are for: display and deterrence.
Young fish look manageable, but it grows into one of the largest tangs and therefore genuinely needs a big tank with plenty of swimming space. It is a grazer that requires a lot of vegetable food; offer algae sheets daily alongside what it takes from the rock.
