Merulina grows as a fan-shaped plate with striking, branching ridges running outwards from the centre, like the veins of a leaf. It is one of the most elegant plate-forming stony corals and grows relatively fast.
It thrives under moderate light and moderate flow and is fairly forgiving for a stony coral. Make sure no sand or debris settles on the plates and give it space, because over the years it expands considerably sideways.
