Acan echinata

Care at a glance

Acan echinata forms a colony of adjoining polyps with thick, fleshy corallites, usually in muted shades of green, brown and red with contrasting mouths. It resembles the well-known acan lordhowensis, but has larger, more domed polyps.

It likes subdued light and gentle flow and therefore fits well in the lower part of the tank. Feed it small meaty food in the evening now and then, and the polyps visibly swell while the colony grows noticeably faster.
