Care at a glance

This gorgonian grows as an elegant, branching fan with a flexible skeleton that sways in the flow. Unlike most gorgonians it contains symbiotic algae, so it draws a large part of its energy from light.

That makes it far easier than its brightly coloured, non-photosynthetic relatives. Give it moderate light and above all strong flow, because still water leads to algae film on the branches; brush that off gently if needed.
