Green spotted puffer

Care at a glance

The green spotted puffer is bright green with black spots and a white belly, and has a distinct personality: it follows you around the room and begs for food. What shops often leave out: it grows up in brackish water and as an adult needs marine conditions to stay genuinely healthy.

Its teeth also grow continuously and must be worn down with shelled snails or other hard foods. It is bitey and territorial, so in practice it is kept alone, or at most with its own kind in a spacious tank.
