Care at a glance
Glossostigma forms tiny oval leaves on creeping stems and is the classic carpeting plant of early aquascaping. It grows notably fast for a foreground plant and closes up within weeks under good conditions.
The condition is plenty of light from above: with too little light it grows upwards rather than sideways, and you lose exactly the low carpet you wanted. With CO2 and a nutrient-rich substrate it stays compact; trim a layer that gets too thick in good time so the bottom layer does not die off.
