Care at a glance
The exquisite fairy wrasse occurs across much of the Indo-Pacific and varies strongly in colour by region: green, red and blue alternate in stripes and blotches. Adult males are the most colourful and show their pattern in short, intense bursts of display.
It is peaceful and entirely safe with corals, but it does need open swimming space and several small feedings a day. As with all fairy wrasses: without a tight lid you will sooner or later find it on the floor beside the tank.
