Blue gularis killifish

Care at a glance

The blue gularis from the Niger delta is one of the largest and most spectacular killifish: males are blue-green with red streaking and a tail that ends in three points. It comes from swampy streams that can dry out in the dry season, and the eggs bridge that period in the substrate.

It is fierce towards its own kind and requires live or frozen food; dry food it usually refuses. Keep one male with several females in a densely planted, cooler tank with a tight-fitting cover, because it jumps.
