Salt and pepper cory

Care at a glance

The salt and pepper cory from Venezuela and Colombia is a dwarf corydoras with an irregular row of dark blotches along its flank. It stays even smaller than most of its relatives, which makes it a good fit for a small, planted tank.

Unlike the pygmy cory it mostly stays on the bottom, where a small group constantly works through the sand. Give it fine sand, a group of at least six and fine sinking food; it is too small to compete for food with fast tankmates.
