Care at a glance

The yellow coris wrasse is an even canary yellow with a small black eye spot on the dorsal fin and is one of the few wrasses that is reef safe from start to finish. It patrols the whole tank tirelessly and disappears into the sand at night to sleep.

It clears up small pests such as flatworms and bristleworms but leaves corals and larger shrimp alone. Provide a layer of fine sand it can bury itself in and cover the tank, because without a lid it will jump out.

Good to know

  • Digger — needs fine sand
  • Known jumper — cover the tank
