Care at a glance

The Thai micro crab, with a shell the size of a pea, is one of the smallest crabs you can keep, and unlike most crabs it lives entirely underwater. It clings to moss and roots and filters particles from the water with hairy legs.

It is extremely vulnerable and belongs in a calm, densely planted nano tank without fish that will chase it. Feed very fine powdered or dust food and provide plenty of moss and fine plants; on a bare bottom it finds nothing and you will never see it.

Good to know

  • Filter feeder — needs fine suspended food
