Care at a glance
The maze brain coral forms a massive colony in which the polyps do not stand separately but lie in long, winding valleys separated by raised walls. That produces a pattern that genuinely calls to mind a maze or the folds of a brain.
It is robust and grows slowly but steadily under moderate light and moderate flow. It does sting, though: at night it extends sweeper tentacles that can burn neighbouring corals, so leave some space around it.
