Care at a glance
The pagoda cup coral grows as a bowl or stacked funnel that over the years takes on the shape of a pagoda roof, with thick polyps scattered across the surface. It is sturdy, grows steadily and is one of the easiest plate-forming stony corals.
It tolerates a range of light intensities and moderate flow, which makes it very forgiving for a stony coral. Do make sure no sand or debris settles in the bowl, because the tissue underneath will die off.
