Care at a glance
Pearlweed is a small, creeping stem plant with tiny, bright green round leaves growing tightly packed together. It's one of the easiest foreground plants to grow in aquascaping.
Left to spread across the substrate it slowly forms a low carpet; left unchecked it shoots upward into a bushy stem plant — both forms can be steered with a bit of trimming. It asks little in terms of light or fertilising, which makes it a rewarding first choice for anyone experimenting with foreground planting for the first time.
