Care at a glance

Dragon's breath is a red alga with fiery red, branching lobes that move like flames in the flow; it is one of the few macroalgae you add to a reef tank purely as a display piece. The colour shows best under moderate light, since bright light actually bleaches it.

Wedge it firmly between rocks, because loose it drifts away and ends up in a pump. Bear in mind that tangs, angelfish and urchins regard it as an excellent meal.
