Sea grapes form clusters of translucent, bladder-like spheres on short stalks, usually in wine red, pink or purple. They are ornamental macroalgae, kept not to strip nutrients but purely for their unusual shape and colour.
They like moderate light and moderate flow and grow slowly, which makes them easy to manage in a mixed tank. Do watch out for herbivorous fish and urchins; they regard these little spheres as an attractive snack.
