Care at a glance

Alveopora looks much like goniopora, but its polyps end in twelve tentacles instead of twenty-four: counting them is the most reliable way to tell the two apart. Here too the whole colony sways like a field of flowers in the flow.

It is generally somewhat easier to keep than its famous cousin and does well under moderate light and moderate flow. Give it stable water parameters and the occasional fine coral food; too much flow will keep it closed up.
