Care at a glance

The red root floater is a floating plant with round leaves and, under enough light, strikingly red roots and leaf margins. Under weak light it simply stays green, so the colour tells you directly how the conditions are.

It likes a calm water surface: spray and condensation droplets on the leaves make it rot away, so do not aim the filter outlet too high. It grows fast, dims the light and pulls plenty of nutrients from the water, which helps against algae.
