Care at a glance
Pocillopora has branching arms covered in characteristic wart-like bumps and polyps that stay extended day and night, giving the coral a fuzzy look. It grows fast and is one of the more robust small-polyp stony corals.
It likes strong light and plenty of flow but forgives swings better than most of its relatives, which makes it a good entry into the SPS world. Do watch for amphipods and red bugs, which like to settle among the branches and damage the polyps.
