Care at a glance
Hydnophora is recognisable by the cone-shaped bumps that cover its entire surface, giving the coral a rasped relief; it comes in branching and encrusting forms, often in fluorescent green.
It grows fast under strong light and vigorous flow, but it is frankly combative: it burns everything it touches and actively conquers space that way. Give it a corner of its own with plenty of distance from neighbours and follow its growth, because it overgrows slower corals without mercy.
