Care at a glance
The head-and-taillight tetra from the Amazon owes its name to two coppery patches that catch the light: one above the eye and one at the tail base, like a headlight and a tail light. Under side lighting you sometimes see only those two dots moving through the tank.
It is easy, peaceful and undemanding, which makes it a rewarding schooling fish for a community tank. Keep it in a group and give it a dark substrate and some planting, and those little lights show at their best.
