Care at a glance
The glass catfish from Thailand is so transparent that you can see its backbone and swim bladder; only the head and a silvery belly sac are opaque. Unlike most catfish it hovers in open water by day, tilted slightly head-up.
It is a true group fish that wastes away when kept alone or in pairs, so keep at least a handful. Give it subdued light, some flow and planting along the sides, and keep water parameters steady; it is more sensitive to swings than its sturdy look suggests.
