Care at a glance

The yellow clown goby is a bright yellow fish of just a few centimetres that spends most of the day sitting still among the branches of a stony coral. It has no scales but a slime coat that is mildly toxic, which is why larger reef fish usually leave it alone.

It is peaceful and fits almost any reef tank, although it will sometimes lay eggs on a branching coral and nibble the polyp tissue in the process. Feed small meaty or frozen foods, as it is too small to compete with fast fish.
