Care at a glance
The camel shrimp owes its name to the pronounced hump on its back and carries a striking upturned, saw-toothed rostrum. It resembles the familiar peppermint shrimp and is regularly confused with it, which causes problems.
Unlike that species it does not clear up aiptasia but rather nips at soft corals and polyps. So keep it in a tank without sensitive corals, provide hiding places and feed in the evening, since it stays hidden by day.
