Care at a glance

The coral banded shrimp is banded in red and white with long white antennae and strikingly large claws, which it holds out in front like a boxer. By day it hangs upside down under an overhang, coming out mainly at dusk.

It forms a lasting pair that defends a territory together, but it tolerates no other shrimp: cleaner and fire shrimp are attacked sooner or later. So keep one pair per tank, give it a crevice or overhang as a home base and feed substantial meaty or frozen food.
