Care at a glance

The arrow crab has a triangular, tapering body and extremely long, spidery legs, which makes it look more like a harvestman than a crab. It is curious and roams the rockwork calmly by day, looking for scraps.

It is a handy clean-up crew member and takes bristleworms among other things, but over the years it may also attack small shrimp, gobies and polyps. Keep one per tank, as they get along badly with each other, and take care with small, vulnerable tankmates.

Good to know

  • Preys on shrimp and snails
  • Active at night
