Care at a glance

The yellow assessor basslet is the sunny counterpart to the more familiar blue assessor and shares the same behaviour: it swims upside down against the ceiling of a cave or overhang, hunting plankton in the shade. Kept in a group it forms a lively, busily swimming cluster.

Its care is identical to the blue assessor's: dim lighting, plenty of hiding spots and fine, suspended food several times a day, since it wants to pick at small mouthfuls continuously. Don't combine it with bold, fast eaters that will chase it away from the food.
