Care at a glance
Helfrich's firefish is the rarest and most expensive of the firefishes: soft lilac with a glowing yellow head and the same tall, pointed dorsal fin that it flicks nervously up and down. It comes from deeper reef slopes in the Pacific.
It is decidedly peaceful and even shy, so do not house it with busy or dominant fish; those will keep it permanently wedged in a crevice. Provide a tight-fitting cover, because like its relatives it jumps straight out of the tank when startled.
