Care at a glance
The azure damselfish is the blue damsel with the yellow belly and tail, a species often confused with the yellowtail damsel but with more yellow and a slightly calmer nature. It is a small, hardy fish that survives almost any beginner's mistake in a new marine tank and eats straight away.
Like all Chrysiptera damsels it defends a corner of its own and gets a bit bolder towards smaller newcomers over the years. Keep it alone in a small tank, or with three or more in a large tank with plenty of hiding places. It leaves corals, shrimp and snails alone and is a fine fish to stock a new reef with.
